祖父の影響により、3歳で和太鼓、5歳で津軽三味線を始める。
その後、三絃小田島流 二代目小田島徳旺氏に師事。
7歳の時、青森県弘前市で開催される津軽三味線全国大会に最年少出場し、翌年から各級の最年少優勝記録を次々と塗り替える。
2004年 津軽三味線全国大会、最高峰のA級で最年少優勝（当時14歳）その後、2006年まで連続優勝し、3連覇を達成。同大会の規定により、殿堂入りを果たす。※津軽三味線世界大会（旧大会名：津軽三味線全国大会）

2007年17歳でビクターエンターテインメントより「祥風」でメジャーデビュー。以降、コンセルトヘボウ（オランダ）、ケネディ・センター（アメリカ）でのコンサートをはじめ、アメリカ、ヨーロッパ、カナダ、アジア各国でコンサートツアーを行うなど、海外に向けても積極的に発信する。

民謡、Classic、Rock、Jazz、Pops、フラメンコなどジャンルにとらわれない演奏スタイルにより、石川さゆり、山下洋輔、宮沢和史、yamaなど、様々なアーティストとの共演を果たす。中学生時には元BOØWY・高橋まこと（ドラム）とバンドを組んでいた。

自身のアルバムでは世界的なミュージシャンとの創作にも取り組み、ジャズ界の巨匠ウィル・リー（ベース）や、同じくジャズ界の若きスタープレイヤー、マーカス・ギルモア（ドラム）、2度グラミー賞に輝いたリチャード・ストルツマン（クラリネット）らとアルバム制作を行う。

和楽器奏者としては初めて日本最大級の音楽フェス『MONSTER baSH』に3年連続で出演するなど、様々なロックフェスやジャズフェスに出演。
また令和７年度「中学生の器楽」（教育芸術社教科書）に掲載される。

近年では”日本遺産×芸能”をテーマに掲げる文化庁主催『NOBODY KNOWS』への参加など、日本文化の掘り起しや普及にも積極的に取り組む。また、日本各地の民謡を現代の感覚で作編曲する「MIKAGE PROJECT」や複数の邦楽演奏家からなる「ART歌舞伎楽団」に参加し、新たな音楽シーンを切り拓いている。

日本屈指の三味線メーカーである三絃工房と、2023年に三味線奏者として世界初のエンドースメント契約を締結。

このような国内外に向けて日本の伝統文化である津軽三味線の魅力を発信していく活動が認められ、浅野の活動が令和元年より政府公式プログラム「beyond2020」の承認事業プログラムに正式決定した。

本来の民謡、古典芸能の追及はもちろんのこと、幅広い世代に三味線の魅力を伝えるべく、津軽三味線の可能性を追い求める孤高の若き津軽三味線奏者。
2025年　曽根麻央（ジャズピアノ・トランペット・作曲）とのユニット「MAOSHO」を結成。ニューヨーク公演を実施、スタンディングオーベーションで大盛況となった。

Born in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture | March 2, 1990
Graduate of Sendai First High School and Keio University

Influenced by his grandfather, he began playing wadaiko drums at the age of three and Tsugaru shamisen at the age of five.
He later studied under Tokuo Odajima II of the Sangen Odajima School.
At the age of seven, he became the youngest-ever participant in the Tsugaru Shamisen National Competition held in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, and from the following year onward continuously broke records as the youngest winner in each division.
In 2004, at age 14, he became the youngest-ever winner of the top A Class division at the Tsugaru Shamisen National Competition. He continued to win consecutively through 2006, achieving three consecutive championships and earning a place in the competition’s Hall of Fame according to its regulations.

In 2007, at the age of 17, he made his major debut with the album Shofu under Victor Entertainment. Since then, he has actively promoted his music internationally, performing at venues such as the Concertgebouw in the Netherlands and the Kennedy Center in the United States, as well as touring across the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Asia.

With a genre-crossing performance style that spans folk music, classical, rock, jazz, pop, and flamenco, he has collaborated with a wide variety of artists including Sayuri Ishikawa, Yosuke Yamashita, Kazufumi Miyazawa, and yama. During his junior high school years, he also formed a band with former BOØWY drummer Makoto Takahashi.

For his own albums, he has collaborated with world-renowned musicians including jazz legend Will Lee (bass), rising jazz star Marcus Gilmore (drums), and two-time Grammy Award-winning clarinetist Richard Stoltzman.

He became the first traditional Japanese instrument performer to appear at Japan’s major music festival MONSTER baSH for three consecutive years, and has appeared at numerous rock and jazz festivals.
He is also featured in the 2025 edition of the junior high school music textbook Instrumental Music for Junior High School Students published by Kyoiku Geijutsu Sha.

In recent years, he has actively engaged in preserving and promoting Japanese culture, including participation in NOBODY KNOWS, a project organized by Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs under the theme of “Japan Heritage × Performing Arts.” He is also involved in the MIKAGE PROJECT, which arranges and reimagines folk songs from across Japan with a contemporary sensibility, as well as the ART Kabuki Ensemble, a group consisting of multiple traditional Japanese musicians, helping to pioneer new musical landscapes.

His beloved shamisen is the “Shitan” model crafted by Sangen Kobo.
In 2023, he became the first shamisen performer in the world to sign an endorsement agreement with Sangen Kobo, one of Japan’s leading shamisen manufacturers.

In recognition of his efforts to promote the appeal of Tsugaru shamisen, a traditional Japanese cultural art form, both in Japan and abroad, Asano’s activities were officially designated in 2019 as an approved project under the Japanese government’s official beyond2020 program.

While remaining dedicated to the authentic traditions of folk music and classical performing arts, he continues to pursue the possibilities of the Tsugaru shamisen as a solitary young virtuoso striving to share its魅力 with audiences of all generations.
In 2025, he formed the unit “MAOSHO” with Mao Sone (jazz piano, trumpet, and composer). Their performance in New York was met with great acclaim and a standing ovation.
